Alvro began with a simple idea — that the best way to rent a car isn't at a counter, but in a driveway. This is the story of how that idea became a marketplace.

We want every trip to feel less like a transaction and more like borrowing a friend's car.
That means honest pricing, real choice, and a community of hosts who genuinely care about the experience. No counters, no kiosks, no clipboards in sight.

From a frustration into a marketplace
The problem
The rental counter had become the worst part of the trip.
Long lines. Padded fees. Identical sedans. A forty-minute walk to the furthest corner of the airport lot. Somewhere along the way, renting a car stopped feeling like the beginning of an adventure and started feeling like an obstacle to it.
The insight
Meanwhile, most cars sit unused over 90% of the time.
There were already millions of perfectly good cars parked on streets and in driveways across the country. They just needed a way to meet the people who could use them — and a platform that made it safe, fair, and easy on both sides.
The build
So we built the marketplace that connects them.
Alvro turns idle cars into income for hosts and stressful trips into smooth ones for renters. Today our community spans dozens of cities and thousands of cars — and we're only getting started.
